While most people are punching a time clock or working a routine job, Young is loving what he does, playing music and making headlines in the gospel music world.
In addition to his solo career, Young has played alongside some of the most popular artists in contemporary gospel, including Mary Mary, Kurt Karr, and Darwin Hobbs.
Young is a risk-taker: he chose to step out on faith and follow his dream. Love for Jesus and providing for his two daughters motivates him to do what he does best, write and perform inspirational hits such as his favorite song, "Only What you do for Christ."
When he was just 15, he decided to follow in the footsteps of other family members. Five of his uncles are musicians. Young even decided to delay attending college and turned down a football scholarship to Newberry College to go on tour with the well-known gospel performer Tommy Ellison.
When Young is not performing solo or playing lead guitar with his church, he groves at private functions with the popular local band, Finesse. It performs an array of music from country to rhythm and blues. Young is famous for his solo rendition of Prince's "Purple Rain."
On the family side, Young is helping raise his two daughters, Chyna, 7, and Paris, 3 months. His family is part of what motivates him to continue pursuing his dream and helps him maintain focused on his goals.
